While the vague sense of mystery kept me interested for a while, I don't think it could for the remaining several hundred pages of the book. That's why I wanted to find out if the plot develops, if the mysteries are solved - you say they are not, so now I know not to bother with the rest. Thank you, it's a weight off my mind!wonderinalicelandhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10208931236894657421noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-934096967055481899.post-48296953667896089672009-03-28T23:30:00.000-04:002009-03-28T23:30:00.000-04:00I am supposed to read this for a college world lit...I am supposed to read this for a college world lit course. I finished the 1st section and can't seem to get any further. Maybe I am just not sophistocated enough, but none of this makes any sense to me. It just seems to be endless strings of random events.Megannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-934096967055481899.post-61266610312943682202009-01-09T01:24:00.000-05:002009-01-09T01:24:00.000-05:00If you haven't tired of him yet, I recommend A Wil...If you haven't tired of him yet, I recommend A Wild Sheep Chase. Much of the content is the same as in his others, though--jaded college student, Japan, too many oddities, loose endings, etc.Brookehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06025813248950864149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-934096967055481899.post-63135624297234462852009-01-08T16:31:00.000-05:002009-01-08T16:31:00.000-05:00Theseus in the labyrinth. I think someone tried to tell me once that most of his books are full of riddles that you can only crack if you were born and raised immersed in Japanese culture. But maybe that someone was just trying to be a jackass.

As for the cat, keep hope alive.Nathanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18280694358337916814noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-934096967055481899.post-13093417119779714832009-01-08T11:43:00.000-05:002009-01-08T11:43:00.000-05:00Your review sums up exactly how I felt about the b...Your review sums up exactly how I felt about the book, minus all the allusions to the labyrinth.
